KIA Award (The Best 7 Architecture of the Year Exhibition)
first established in 1979, the KIAs highest honor recognizes the seven best examples of Architecture completed each year. Awards are presented to the architect, the builder for each selected work for their architectural achievement. Panels and models are exhibited for public view.
Chopyung Architecture Award
Established in 1980 with a donation from Chopyung, Jung-Soo Kim, this award is given to the individual who has greatly contributed dither to the development of architecture and/or to the development of KIA
Achon Architecture Award
Established in 1986 with donation from Achon, Kyung-Hwan Kim, this award is presented to the architect of the work that is designed based on the design principles unique to Korea and best reflects traditional Korean aesthetics
Aum, Duck-moon Architecture Award
Established in 1989 with the donation from former IA president, Mr. Aum, Duck-Moon. This award is given to an architect who has designed the most creative and distinct project with prominent design achievements.
KimJongSeung Award
Funded by Architect Jong-Seung Kim, Honorary Director of KIA, this award is for a design of creativity and completeness in technology and given to an architect biannually
The Good Place Award
This award is given to an individual, a firm, and a local government, for recognition of their works in enhancing urban architectural environment and improving community-oriented, historical and cultural values.Co-hosted by Ministry of culture & tourism and KIA, four awards were named as "Dooraenamum-literally collaboration and sharing", "GeoriMadang-literally street and open," "Noorishimteo-literally together resting,", and "Urisarang-literally our love' to represent the intention of the award.
